Meet Cayenne 🌶️
Cayenne is a 4-year-old Jenny who came to Layla Rose Ranch as part of the same cherished herd of miniature donkeys surrendered through a deeply loving and responsible decision. Her previous owner cared for the herd very much but, due to health challenges, could no longer provide the consistent care they required. Wanting the very best for them, she entrusted Cayenne and her companions to us so they could continue to thrive.
Cayenne is a shy and sensitive girl who takes comfort in calm routines and the presence of other donkeys. She is gentle by nature and may need a little extra time and patience to feel fully secure in new surroundings. Having always lived as part of a herd, she gains confidence from donkey companionship and does best when she isn’t alone.
Because of her strong social needs, Cayenne’s ideal home must include another miniature donkey, or adopters should be willing to adopt a pair. Donkeys depend on their own kind for emotional well-being, and horses are not appropriate companions for miniature donkeys, as they do not meet the same social and behavioral needs.
Cayenne would thrive with an adopter who understands miniature donkey care and is willing to move at her pace, offering consistency, kindness, and a quiet environment. In return, she offers a soft, sweet presence and the special bond that comes from earning the trust of a gentle soul.
