What’s our SafetyNet Program for Horses in Crisis?
Ever heard the term “safety net program” and thought, “Wait—horses need those too?”
Just like people, horses can face tough times — and sometimes, their owners do too.
The Layla Rose Ranch SafetyNET Program helps keep horses out of dangerous situations by stepping in before neglect or surrender happens. Think of it as a soft landing when life throws a hard curveball.
Our experience has shown us that what causes a horse to enter the auction pipeline is often times short-term financial hardship. The truth is, it is much better for the horse to stay with its owner than to be sent off to the unknown.
If this sounds like you and If you qualify, we might be able to:
- 🏠 Provide short-term feed or hay assistance
- 💊 Cover basic vet or farrier care
- 🚚 Help rehome a horse safely if an owner can’t continue care through our Surrender Program.
- 🤝 Offer emotional support and resources to struggling owners
It’s not about judgment — it’s about compassion. ❤️
When owners hit a rough patch, safety nets catch both horse and human before they fall too far.
Because sometimes, all it takes is one small act of help to prevent a horse from becoming a rescue case.
